Event Preview: Title Techniques

Evolution is natural, powerful, but stagnation is a shackle. As our owner Kris Bender always says “Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.” So this Saturday, Title Boxing is preparing to evolve, to continue this journey by launching a whole new experience for our members; the Title Techniques Class.

Here at Title Boxing Clarksville we are blessed to have some of the best trainers in the country, a diverse group of fighters, strong men (and women!) with a diverse skill set to bring to the table, everything from Capoeira to Krav Maga. The Title Techniques class will put that powerful think tank to use by assigning our trainers to various stations around the club based on their respective studied and trained disciplines.

The class will be a one hour class divided into four segments lasting fifteen minutes. True to form, Gabe and King will be heading up our kicking station; one of the trickiest moves for many--and a skill that is crucial to get right. The ferocious trio of Christian, Ferrari, and Shonuff (Ashley) will be facilitating the controlled release of your inner beast in the elbows and knees section. And for when the world doesn’t just give you a nudge, but hits you square in the face--there’s the nuances of boxing counters and striking taught by expert fighters Coach K and Nate the Train. But perhaps the most important station of all is the Modifications/Fitness Mistakes station, led by Paul (Mr. Amazing) and the Hulk aka Coach Curtis.

The results here at Title have always for themselves: shrinking the inches, the pounds of fat that seemed to be melting off the member’s backs straight into the black rubber mats. “Jab, cross, hook” like a mantra playing in the mind “I am strong, I am powerful, I can do this.” The old sundresses finally pulled out from the backs of closets, the momentum of hundreds of people in a ship together floating on energy and ferocity--but there is a deeper level to be obtained.

Title Techniques is going to be the chance to hone our skills, to build on our strengths, and correct what we are doing wrong to become the best boxing versions of ourselves. The skills we will learn are a gift, piece of equipment as important as the wraps we put on our hands, and something we will be able to bring every day back to the bag stand with us on our journey.

*Title Techniques will be Saturday, July 15 at 10 a.m. and is open to all members*
